How can e-Democracy help unify the divided political USA

It is clear now more than ever that the United States is more divided now than it has ever been since the civil war. Now in today's modern age another civil war erupting in America seems highly unlikely but if you watch carefully you can see just how divided people in America truly are. Now with that said how can we make a better system where there is not such animosity and hate towards each other and truly get people to have compassion for others? It may seem like a fairy tale becoming a Utopian society especially in America where there has been a huge divide which has only worsened since the end of the civil war but there is steps that can be taken to help heal and come together.

Now you can't realistically expect people to come join and huddle around the camp fire and sing Kumbaya together but there is things with the implementation of eDemocracy that can help bring people together. Pia Mancini brings up a system her country uses to help bring the usefulness of the internet into democracy.
There is many valid points she brings up such as the fact that we as citizens get to vote once every couple of years on issues that are constantly changing everyday. There is the issue of silence or noise that comes from its citizens due to a two party system which was created hundreds of years ago and is now outdated. Silence is caused by those citizens who feel as if there voice is not important and not heard and the noise is caused by revolts of the citizens and calling things out that is not being conducted properly. eDemocracy allows many citizens to unite together for a united cause such as a protest or shine light to an issue that needs to be highlighted. It is all about having the representatives representing the people who elected them and not the corporations or donors who finance their campaigns.

I truly believe going forward that campaigns and the huge donors that donate to these campaigns need to be taken out of the equation. The more money that goes through these campaigns the more promises that people are held accountable to those who donated to. Do I have the answers to solving everything that is wrong with this current system? Absolutely not but I am determined to keep the conversation going so as a society we can come together and tackle important issues with a level head and not just based off political alignments.
