Getting the young generation on board the e-governance train

We all know the younger generations are all very tech savvy and seem to be either constantly glued to some sort of screen throughout most of the day. Now how can we use technology to help better society through teaching our youth the importance of democracy and eventually one day replace our parents generation? Through gaming of course because it seems their is a vast amount of the youth enamored with "gaming" so why not use this multi-billion dollar industry to help educate young adults on the importance of decision making in the form of a game. Kurt Squire introduced this concept to me with this below video.
He brings up great points in that their is already a huge portion of young adults playing games for hours on end and they can interact with other people from all over the globe and the games bring them all together. Now of course most people will not play a game titled "How to be a public elected official" or some boring game of the such. But his concept is to integrate decision making with other individuals where they must come together to complete a task as a team and this in a weird way will build bonds and teach leadership. Leadership and forming bonds through a video game? Yes as crazy or outlandish as it may sound people working together injunction to complete a single task as teammates can carry over to the real world. Now finding that balance from shooting games and other violent games and helping better the world is a pretty big gap. A game that I grew up playing within the classroom which was allowed was the Oregon Trail game (pictured below).

This game was every kid in the computer labs favorite game and would completely engage kids in decision making skills and have everyone on their best behavior so that they would be able to play the game. Based off previous games developers can lead to more of a modern day feel where you have to make decisions that affect others and help build up a young child's sense of morality from a young age. By doing this you can instill the fact that your decisions can have a huge impact on others which in turn can lead to a more cognizant decision making process by that individual. With technology evermore on the rise it is only right that the multi-billion dollar industry of gaming get on board with positive impactful projects every so often.
